These are the perfect solution for rugged protection and covering of splices or repairs in wire-armored submarine cables.

• They are available in four sizes designated 2 in. (51 mm), 3 in. (76 mm), 4 in. ( 102 mm) and 5 in (127 mm) to correspond to the maximum cable diameter over the armor wires.

• The cases can be used when splicing either single or double-armored cables.Splice Case

• Each case includes two cast steel split end members that clamp around the armored cable; they're connected by four threaded tie rods to prevent pull-out.

• Two end clamps and four sets of clamping plates let you secure the free ends of the armored wires to the end members. Installation of the clamp plates should be in such a manner that the junctures are rotated 90° from each other, with the first clamp plate juncture rotated 90° from the end clamp juncture.

• Two steel channel side members and steel top and bottom cover plates with skids are also provided

Each component is hot-dip galvanized for dependable corrosion resistance underwater.

• Special cases can be ordered with modified end clamps for fiber optic cables. Please call GMP directly for more details.

• Please follow your own company practice for installation instructions.

Note: If the head of water over the installed splice case will be 50 ft. (15 M) or more, a C Sleeve Liner should be installed over the splice after it is wrapped and before the lead sleeve is installed. On hardened plant, a C Sleeve Liner should always be used regardless of the depth of the installation.
