GMP Partners with CBS Products, Now Offers the "Breeze" Micro Fiber Cable Blowing Machine

General Machine Products Company, Inc. (GMP), Trevose, Pa., and the U.K.-based CBS Products, Ltd., each globally recognized leaders in cable placement technology, have announced a partnership that adds the "Breeze" micro fiber cable blowing machine to GMP's growing line of fiber optic cable placing equipment and accessories. Designed to meet the need for micro fiber cable installation, the "Breeze" will move micro fiber cable of 0.1 to 0.315 in. (2.5 to 8.0 mm) diameter at speeds to 164 ft. (50 m) per minute into pre-installed micro duct. It is compatible with micro duct O.D. from 0.197 to 0.472 in. (5.0 to 12.0 mm).

Its compact size and portable maneuverability makes the "Breeze" ideally suited for external or internal use. The compliant double driven cable rollers provide a secure grip while safely handling delicate micro fiber cable. The pushing force, up to 35 lb. (16 kg) maximum, can be limited to suit the cable stiffness. It can accommodate the thinnest micro fiber cable with the use of an anti-buckle device.

Comprised of a lightweight aluminum housing, the "Breeze" uses compressed air to install the cable. In operation, the electrically powered, two-roller drive system controls the cable as it is propelled by compressed air into the duct. An electronic monitoring system provides read-outs of speed and distance, protects against obstructions, and includes an emergency stop facility.

The main features include:

• Two hard rollers (with soft covers) drive the micro fiber cable. Covers of variable hardness/softness are available.

• Self-centering rollers; no need to adjust the guides.

• Quick change rollers with one simple tool.

• Accessories include a multi-purpose carrying case/working stand, a rugged accessory case, battery packs, and more.
