Overview

Responsibilities

The Plant Manager is responsible for managing the plant by coordinating and planning the manufacturing of products to ensure customer orders and company products are processed and shipped in accordance with planned schedules, job specifications established quality standards and planned profit objectives. This position is also responsible for implementing change to continuously improve performance and increase workflow efficiencies.

  1. Monitor plant activities to ensure effective use of available resources are used to meet production schedules for customer orders and inventory requirements.
  2. Review production reports and resolve any issues to ensure quality standards. Create and implement strategies to improve performance and production based on the production report.
  3. Optimize operational performance, including safety, quality, manufacturing, cost, and morale. Align plant functions with company goals.
  4. Analyze and review manufacturing operation procedures to develop and implement improvement strategies.
  5. Implement company-wide policies, goals, objectives, and procedures in conjunction with company management.
  6. Coordinate with Operations Managers to develop plant fiscal budgets. Determine labor standards and staffing levels on an ongoing basis. Review regular financial reports and follows up as necessary to control costs and approve all purchases of supplies and equipment.
  7. Collaborate with Product Development and Engineering to determine whether operations allow for a new product or product applications.
  8. Ensure the tactical and strategic plans of the facility are aligned with corporate goals and objectives.
  9. Make employment decisions on hiring, promotion, transfers, training, and development, disciplinary action, terminations, and pay adjustments; monitor performance by completing new hire and annual performance evaluations. Consult with Human Resources as necessary.
  10. Ensure that proper safety methods are used in the department as specified by the Executive Loss Prevention group. Ensure the team maintains an orderly and clean department.
  11. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Business or Engineering or related field and seven years of relevant work experience required. At least five years working in a manufacturing environment and five years of supervisory experience required. Master’s in Business Administration preferred. Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office ﴾Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word﴿.

Strong leadership skills combined with the ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with people, projects, and issues. Ability to listen and communicate effectively. Ability to lead people. Ability to actively engage by means of discovery, process, and/or application of new information. Demonstrate key competencies, including conflict management, business negotiation, organization, and decision making.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to be located in our Trevose, PA Facility.

Responsibilities

This is a supporting role in which the individual is responsible for performing engineering analysis to define design requirements, review suitability of materials, and feasibility of proposed processes under daily direction. Requires solid knowledge of engineering fundamentals and principles with good general understanding of various material properties.

Specific Responsibilities will include:

  1. Focus primarily on the engineering development of new product ideas that fuel the future growth of GMP.
  2. Participate in field visits with Product Marketing to observe end-user installations and uncover unmet needs related to fiber optic cable installations.
  3. Participate in internal new product ideation brainstorming to develop next-generation product concepts and work to engineer those ideas from concept to commercialization.
  4. Provide support and engineering insight to product marketing for the development of new product business cases.
  5. Apply the new product development process to bring product from feasibility, through development, pilot, and up to launch.
  6. Prepare and route product documentation including, but not limited to, detailed drawings, Item Masters, Bill of Materials (BOMs), specifications and inspection criteria as directed.
  7. Design, develop, prototype and test product components, sub‐systems, by using principles and techniques of mechanical, electrical, and/or industrial engineering analysis and findings.
  8. Participate as directed in resolving engineering design, product quality and testing issues.
  9. Fulfill benchmark evaluation of competitive or proposed new products as well as ongoing product improvements utilizing proposed processes or material changes.
  10. Perform engineering analysis and field research to define design requirements for new products.
  11. Perform quality improvement and cost reduction projects that improve customer satisfaction and profitability. Use problem‐solving skills to analyze engineering difficulties.
  12. Prioritize work to align with the goals of the department and various project teams.
  13. Review personal progress withing projects on a consistent basis and work to maintain timelines.
  14. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution or program with no work experience; or an Engineering degree from a related field and 5 years of relevant work experience in Mechanical Engineering. 3 to 5 years of SolidWorks or other CAD software experience.

Must have strong technical and analytical skills. Must have planning and organizational skills. Must be capable of facilitating projects and solutions on time and within budget. Demonstrated oral and written communication within a team environment.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software is required. Knowledge of machining and other manufacturing processes is a plus.

We are currently looking for a Customer Support Associate to be in our Trevose, PA Facility.

Responsibilities

Perform all customer service functions required to fully service GMP customers by performing a variety of duties to include all order processing, handling, and maintaining customer orders. Continuously improve what the company does to support the business and the success of internal and external customers. General knowledge of products, policies, procedures, systems, organizational structure, and industry.

  1. Interact with customers by phone, email or in person; and receives orders by email, fax, phone, or E.D.I for GMP products, services, and business growth. Demonstrate ability to analyze and solve problems of routine scope and complexity. Ability to organize and prioritize work volume to meet deadlines and achieve results.
  2. Typical assignments include but are not limited to: preparing customer orders prior to entry into the computer system; acknowledgement preparation; responding to customer inquiries, and requests for literature or additional product information; and monitoring partial or total shipments against customer orders.
  3. Price and deliver quotations to customers, responds to customer inquiries checking status of orders and promised delivery dates by phone, email, or mail. Ensure orders are processed, maintained appropriately with approvals and released timely.
  4. Coordinates with Shipping Department to verify customer freight charges; track missing or lost shipments; and arrange for return of GMP items via Returned Goods Authorization process.
  5. Coordinates with GMP Repair Departments to provide customer price and delivery on GMP factory-serviced items in accordance with the GMP repair policy.
  6. Fills out order or contract forms, determines prices for products requested, prepares change of address records, and maintains C.O.M. software, and Customer Master Files.
  7. Maintain, update, and add all customer account contact profiles into the CRM (Customer Relations Management) database for the sales department.
  8. Build enduring positive relationships with peers, supervisors, managers, all internal and external customers. Effectively manage, process and present verbal and written information. Listen effectively. Respond to information requests timely and accurately providing others with information in advance of potential issues. Maintain a ‘can do attitude’ and relate positively with others while problem-solving toward issue resolution. Remain poised under pressure.
  9. Contribute as an individual and as part of a team to achieve company and department goals and objective. Provide assistance to team members as needed. Cooperate and respond to assist team, enabling team to meet and/or exceed department and company goals and objectives. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School diploma required. College degree preferred. A minimum of one (1) year of related business experience preferred. Bilingual preferred.

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word). Fundamental knowledge of all systems used: PRMS, AS400, BOSS, Varsity is preferred.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks and interruptions, and utilize time management skills to prioritize throughout the business day.

Ability to recognize, adapt and implement new procedures. Ability to utilize basic and ad hoc reporting. Ability to identify, troubleshoot and elevate system issues.

Overview

​The Production Associate is responsible for operating manual and CNC equipment, assembly, and packaging. This position is also responsible for maintaining inventory of assembly components within the work area and setup of components to complete each assembly assignment.

Responsibilities

1. Operate manual and CNC ﴾computer numerical control﴿ metal cutting equipment.
2. Read bill of materials, gather product to assemble kits, and position parts following assembly instructions or blueprints.
3. Assemble product using hand tools/power tools and apply product labeling in the proper areas when applicable.
4. Ensure product meets all quality and functional requirements.
5. Package product using packaging instructions.
6. Maintain an organized and accurate inventory of kit components within the assigned work cell.
7. Perform minor troubleshooting on equipment.
8. Disassemble products sent back to the facility for repair to replace or salvage parts.
9. Efficiently complete all assembly by required deadline and standard rate.
10. Keep a clean and organized work area.
11. Practice, promote and support Lean implementation, continuous improvement initiatives and 5S standards in the assigned work area.
12. Continuously look for ways to improve process flow and eliminate waste.
13. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Overview

The tool crib attendant receives, stores and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials, and safety equipment in industrial establishments.

Responsibilities

  1. Issues tools, fixtures, jigs, dies and equipment to workers and maintains records of tools and equipment issued and returned.
  2. Responsible for locating lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
  3. Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment.
  4. Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
  5. Inspects and measures tools and equipment for defects, wear, and reports damage to wear to Tool room personnel.
  6. May deliver tools and equipment to workers.
  7. Responsible for marking and identified tools and equipment; and storage locations.
  8. Maintains die and fixture storage area by designating shelving or floor sections for certain jobs; recording those locations and retrieving dies or fixtures as needed when specific jobs are run again.
  9. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook or other e-mail software. General computer skills are required. Knowledge working with AS400 is preferred.

Ability to complete data entry accurately. Attention to detail plays a large role in the success of the position. Must have the ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with upper management and peers. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipments by performing the following duties:

Responsibilities

  1. Prepare more complex items requiring special handling or more complicated shipments than the routine.
  2. Responsible for identifying information and counts, weights and measurements of items on outgoing shipments to verify information against bill of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
  3. Follows predetermined method of shipment. May be required to determine special methods of shipment.
  4. Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
  5. Assembles wooden and cardboard containers or selects already assembled containers.
  6. Apply shipping labels to boxes
  7. Ability to run the shipping line in the scale area.
