CABLE SHEAVE SHACKLE

Used for supporting a cable sheave or quadrant block in place at a manhole equipped with pulling-in irons.

  • Contains a two-part clevis made of high-strength structural steel, with two sets of sheave pin holes 1 3/8 in. (35mm) dia. for accommodating either a cable sheave or quadrant block
  • The load half has a forged steel hook that attaches to the pulling-in irons with a standard 1/2 in. (12mm) x 6 ft. ( 1.8 m) construction chain, while the support half has a shoulder eyebolt so you can tie it off to a support rope over the manhole
  • Will accommodate any 11 in., 20 in. or 26 1/2 in. cable sheave with a 1 3/8 in. hole size for  4 in. or 5 in. cable
  • Each shackle includes a 1 5/16 in. dia. sheave pin and can withstand working loads up to 10,000 lbs (4535kg)
  • Now included Safety Latch as required by OSHA

Select the right GMP Sheave or Quadrant Block to accommodate your cable pulling needs, then choose a shackle from the table below to match the size

QUADRANT BLOCKS

Used to guide the pulling line or cable during underground cable placement or removal

  • Consists of six cast aluminum sheaves supported in an aluminum frame to provide a bending radius of 24 in. (609mm)
  • Each sheave has self-lubricating bushings for smooth movement and a long, maintenance-free life
  • Available to accommodate 3 in. (84453), 4 in. (84454) or 5 in. (84455) cable diameters
  • Each side plate has holes to insert a 1 1/4 in. (32mm) digging bar to prevent the block from being knocked into the manhole
  • It can also be used with a cable sheave shaker, pulling frame, or jamb skid to suspend in the manhole as an alternative method.

FIBER OPTIC QUADRANT BLOCK

The Fiber Optic Quadrant Block provides a smoother and safer cable placement in manhole vaults with a minimum of set up time.

  • Eleven machined aluminum sheaves provide better cable support than all other conventional blocks
  • Its corrosion resistant aluminum and stainless steel construction provides a smooth, non chafing cable placement surface
  • Quadrant can be used either inside the vault or on edge of the manhole
  • This unit has an 18 in. (457mm) bending radius and is compatible with all fiber optic cables up to 7/8 in. (22mm) diameter
  • The Fiber Optic Quadrant, when used in the manhole, is mounted with a GMP Fiber Optic Shackle (P/N 70045) or a Pulling Frame
